You can copy & paste any task between activities. Tasks accessible to you - you are a stakeholder or a superior - can be quite freely copied amid parts of a project or an organisation or between various projects and organisations.
Pass that task to a new team. Without rewriting it.
Through the contextual menu (right-click on a task) you can copy the task into a clipboard and paste it anywhere in the same or different project. The rule is that all text fields, selected data (combo boxes) and documents are copied to the new location. Task stakeholders are not copied because that would breake our access rights rules. And we don't copy comments. We believe that copying non-editable comments between projects could cause more headaches than work improvement.
Also it is important to know that Operational Tasks (blueish) are only copied to Tasks and Tactical Tasks (reds) can only be copied to Planning. You cannot copy a planned Tactical Task to execution of a project, also you can't copy an Operational Task into a plan.
Gaining more flexibility in managing tasks through copying will enable many useful process arrangements. Besides being able to just copy a task while planning, now you can copy one task from a project A to make it an input task in project B so the team knows exactly what was the original assignement, the defined output and what input or output documents where gathered for that task during its previous life.
Handing over an activity from team to team hes never been easier.
Simple Copy&Paste introduced in March is just the beginning and we think more tricks based on this feature will arrive soon.
